Just to let you know, the engine did have a miss before the o-rings and glow plugs were replaced. The latest contribution test showed weak compression still in the #7 cylinder, and the new injector in that cylinder is fine. The compression is over 400 in every cylinder except the #7, it still has just over 200 pounds.

don't know why there so ceap has any one else here of blackwater engines also i did a compression test on cylinders 2,4,6,8 on my motor an got 290,350,210,190 an that was cold.truck misses enought to shake truck when cold an has a slite miss when warm. starts hard on cold days colder it is the worse it misses. has new injectors, glow plugs . ^^^^^ what he said. I tried to do a contribution test hot and cold, the cold test said cylinder 2 was not contributing but a hot test said cylinder 3 wasnt contributing, but the contribution test was done prior to the injector buzz test. I tore the valve covers off today, figured I would do a compression test to make sure my rings were not jacked.
The mechanic did a mechanical compression check testing each cylinder and said they were in the 400 range except the number 8 cylinder which is at 150. He also said the turbo didn't look good and was only producing 17 when it should be in the 20s. The buzz test was good but #3 failed the Cylinder Contribution test. If you have good compression and good buzz test but keep getting a cylinder misfire most likely you have a bad UVC harness. These fail more than the other stuff mentioned. Hello, I have A 2000 7.3 with a strong misfire and blue/white smoke even at warm temp..pulled the codes on the ECM and came up with a P1316. Upon further diagnostics and a buzz test came up with P1276 - Cylinder # 6 high to low open indicating that injector circuit #6 . After doing the compression test on the 2003 truck, the numbers were cylinder1 415psi, cylinder2 425psi, cylinder3 425psi, cylinder4 440psi, cylinder5 410psi, cylinder6 400psi, cylinder7 425psi, and cylinder8 375psi. . My question is, what is the cross over from good compression to bad compression in the 7.3?
